Started out just like another day,
Laughter here, frowns there, all of them easy to lay
No one would know, how their life would change,
Yesterday good, evolved into what's now a mistake,
We once held hands while swinging from the good times,
Now we are miles apart, nothing good in between that,
Who was to say, that it will end this way,
present friends, next living in the past with memories.
I wish things did not have to come to end like this,
but you have taken my faith and shaken it.
Now I must do what is right for me,
even if I know I'll miss who you used to be.
