You're doing it incorrectly, start with a fresh game, search for the initial value to be 0. Then jump and keep searching with the "Increased Value" on Scantype. When you eventually find the correct address pointer scan for it. Settings should work even with default.
Alright, the pointer scan is done, now what?
Check the number of paths it returned, if it's huge the number that is, then close the game down. DONT! Close the pointerscan table, as you will need it later. Open a fresh game client, and attach CE, afterwards open the pointer table, use the re-scan memory, then use re-scan for value, and type 0. Since the amount of jumps made on a fresh client is 0. Keep repeating this process until you've narrowed down the list. There's much more efficient ways to do this, it's a very dated and manual process but it gets the job done.
If you want to be efficient i would recommend using multiple pointermaps and cross referencing with CE. (Tutorials can be found on youtube)
Hope this gives you some guidance, it's not as hard as you think.
