Will normal config editing be ever possible again?

Devs always made some changes and suddenly our config files werent working anymore. But people always found a new headline to add and it worked again. Im not an expert at all, but this time it seems different. To me it looks like its never going to be easy and save to do normal config editing anymore. Can someone confirm? Or will we find some new lines to make it working again? Is pakchunk editing really the only way to make configs working? If thats the case it really sucks. Not only is it much more difficult to make your own configs, but its way riskier to get banned now.

Devs does not care if your potato pc cant run the game, they care about the money that they get when you buy the game/dlcs/auric cells.

Maybe upgrade your potato pc, its 2020 yikes
