How do I lower my ping?

Ok well I have two problems here.

I cant connect to anygames takes forever....

And when I DO get in a game how do I lower my ping? I hate having 999 ping lol.

Version of mw2 (or server w/e): AlterIWnet.

So anytips on how to lower my ping? And allow me to connect to games much more frequently?

(YES I SEARCHED THE FORUM AND COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING SO DONT SPAMM! /yea)

1. Stop downloading.
2. Close chat programs.
3. Close your browser windows.
4. Run tuneup utilities to see if your computer has some problems.
5. Try lowering your ingame settings.
6. Make sure that your brother/sister/parents aren't downloading crap.
7. Try allowing your whole steam folder to your AV-Program.

What kind of connection do you have?

He is using AlterIWnet,

He must allow that folder, not Steam.

Whatever, I guess he knows what I mean. :P

Hmmm :/ I already do that ping still crappy...must be alterIWnets servers anyone wanna give me the server name of a server around texas :]?

Theres this script called Leatrix Latency Fix, it has to do with receiving packets and whatnot, and of course I cant give you the link, so Google it

if you want to search games much faster, put these in console:
ping_increment 50
ping_default_min 100
ping_searches_per 1
