Creating a server with no database

Hey people, I hope there's a way making the thing I'm lookin for, I'm a pixel artist who wants to put his sprites into a server
but since I don't want to go public yet I'd like testing things on a server of my own, but there's too many thing with sql that I just don't know, and I bet I got a lot of things to learn yet, is there a way making a server with no database? I just need to see my items in action.
if there is an option and if there isn't, do you guys know of a good server source with client?

just use one fabiano or cake easy to setup
