Laptop tracking

Something has been going around in my head
Are firms not capable of locating a stolen or lost laptop?

Say for example all the refunding services etc where a laptop is actually lost, are they not capable of calling up the brand and ask them to track it for them?

Imagine a google pixel or a dell or hp or whatever there is being 'lost' during tracking and being activated few days later, are they not pinged or notified of the location? Anyone who has any geniune idea?

I changed my own SDD, and formatted it just to be sure.

Based on my experience, there is a foolproof method to bypass whatsoever issue that may come for you (well it also still depends on the rfnd mthod used).

You can also still exploit or normally use the warranty, and you can SE another device for yourself.

Unless it's some integrated tracking hardware, or an OS like MacOSX... doubt it.

I got my lenovo laptop refunded months ago, set it up normally, obviously i didnt activate my warranty or use any of their online services, uninstalled/disabled most of the lenovo services,

almost a year now with no issues, use it daily

like the op said , hard to put track it without tracking devices

I think tracking is illegal for some countries, from consumer view

Yeah, Laptops don't typically have tracking systems the way phones do
