Search file in C drive w/o admin?[Solved]
Is there a way to search files in C drive w/o admin because i can only browse the files in locations w/o admin
I don't understand, what do you want to do? List all files? See if a file exists?
yah like list all of the files in C drive.

Code:
Public Function searchDir(ByVal path As String) As List(Of String)
Dim paths As New Stack(Of String)
Dim files As New List(Of String)

        paths.Push(path)

        While paths.Count > 0
Dim dir As String = paths.Pop

            Try
                files.AddRange(IO.Directory.GetFiles(dir))
            Catch ex As Exception
            End Try

            Try
For Each s As String In IO.Directory.GetDirectories(dir)
                    paths.Push(s)
                Next
            Catch ex As Exception
            End Try
        End While

        Return files
    End Function
Code:
for each file as string in searchdir("C:")
listbox1.items.add(file)
@Blubb

thanks for the code but it doesnt work.
it only shows like 4 files of the windows application of vb.net
For Each f As String In searchDir("C:\")
ListBox1.Items.Add(f)
Next

This does take some shit load of time. You will have to go into multithreading. HF :P

Do you really need to list ALL FILES from the WHOLE device?
Basically all i want is to search for a specific file and list to listbox.
Code:
Option Strict On
Option Explicit On

Looks solved.

Marked solved, don't post for >7 days unless completely necessary.
One more question blubb.
how can you search for a specific file name?
Blubbs code is standard MSDN, So if you need to research it more and get more help on the matter, you should read the documentation.

"blubbs" msdnn code is recursive searching,

for single file searching as long as you know the directory to search in (like windows search C:\ or specific file etc)

MSDN

[php]
Dim DirectoryI as New DirectoryInfo("Path")

Dim fileI as New FileInfo

for each filei in directoryi.GetFiles
comx.Items.Add(fileI.Fullname)
next
[/php]

Really easy and straight forward
