non windows desktop thread
the antithesis of dix's threads. there are 100 windows threads i wanna know what kinda desktops yall running.
im using my scuff brew arch fork using plasma kde and for terminal konsole. i believe less is more, other than the video wallpaper theres nothing in my desktop to clutter. since im mostly using term to open files dont even need files or trashcan since i can just -rm also yes i just had to reboot so this is default startup look

GOod, wish I could understand how I can do it

I think he means how he could install an OS that isn't Windows, unsure though.

There are tons of videos/resources out there, arch has a huge library of resources in their wiki https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Installation_guide
Its pretty simple to get a linux partition on ur pc. I currently dual boot windows and linux using clover boot manager lets me pick what os im using during pc startup. there are plenty of linux distros out there that are extremely easy to use, just flash it onto a usb with rufus or etcher and boot it, you should check out manjaro, endeavor os, linux mint. There are different types of linux distros some easier than others, i personally like arch linux as theres so much already in the AUR and compatability and hardening wise its great. Mental Outlaw on youtube also talks in depth about homebrew or DIY linux, It requires a lot more upkeep than windows thats for sure, but its so so worth it. I have a pc with the experience i want rather than one dictated by windows
looks great
I just use Windows 10 LTSC 2021. If I run anything with Linux, it's probably with Ubuntu on VMWare (but that's when I'm doing stuff for classes). I've been thinking about trying Manjaro.
