Uhm, yes, I know what to do there. ( http://www.mpgh.net/forum/33-visual-...er-vb-net.html ) But what if I don't have a site of my own? Well, actually, I just wanna understand what he meant by website host part and the FTP shit. o-o

Well you can upload files up to 15mb to it, which is usually enough for any release/txt file i need to upload.

If you have more than 1 file you want to update, md5 is a good solution :P

I'm not mentioning my own, I ment a buildt-in updater in his program using md5. It is just way better for more files

It is not much harder.

For 1 .exe or so, you can sure make a .txt and compare it.

As a web developer, what we use it for is uploading large amounts of files to a online storage folder or domain for either storage or as a public domain.

CoreFTP is a decent free FTP client.

The concept is the same as moving one file from one folder of your computer to the next.

You drag a file from your computer to the online folder and drop.

If you don't like CoreFTP you should give Filezilla a try, been using it for ages =D
