Ok, lets talk about their fanbase.

It is GIGANTIC.

There is more touhou fan-art than there is naruto, bleach, and one piece put together. I'm just in awe of the serious amount of it. And its just a game lol.

The only anime I know is Naruto and is not because I like it, is because one of my room mates use to watch that crap...

indeed,there are hatsune miku movies, fanflash, 3d model made movies, loads of content about the music bad apple!, you get bombed with it... + most naruto fan based shit is made with paint rather then flash... so no wonder why there are that less of them most download the movies from the web and claim its thiers too... >.>

Tohou is pretty "mainstream" if you will. A LOT of artist just use their character designs and put w/e they feel like it.

You can pretty much see every type of design on any of their characters, from cute, to insane, to loli. People just use their models like crazy.

I fucking hate the Touhou games.
Or actually, the games hate me.
