C++ Basics

Hey, I've been goin through some online tutorials on c++ and I was wondering... just hoowww much of the basics do I need to learn before start on directx? It would help if someone would make list on all the basics of C++ and then start one of directx. I really want to start hacking games, I know its not easy but im determined.

if you follow enough tutorials you wont have to be a C# dictionary,but from what i can tell a fair amount, not heaps, but time needs to be invested
