[GUIDE] Lower Lip Piercing
First to begin you will need to get the following items in order to do this correctly, yes you can substitute but the results might not come out the same.
Sterilized Hollow Needle- Depending on the size you want the hole to be, most professional piercings use a 14gauge needle and put 16 gauge jewelery.
Jewelery - A loop would be better because if you get a stud, there's a chance that skin will grow around it, once its perfectly healed you can put other jewelery in.
Sanitizing Soap or Lotion - To get the target area clean
Piercing Clamp - You'll need a piercing clamp in order for the piercing to go straight, or else it might come out crooked and at a wrong angle.
1) The first you will want to do is clean the target of where you want to pierce it, once you found where you want the hole, put a black mark so you know where it should go in.
2)Stretch your lip out and put the clamp in, if you don't have a clamp, then this part will be difficult as you will have to use your hand and results will mostly likely not be the same.
3)Put a another mark on the inside of the lip, it doesn't really matter where this hole is, as long as its inside your mouth when you close it.
4) Get your needle and you're going to pierce it from the inside of your lip to the outside, If you don't have a high pain tolerance, this will probably hurt you, you'll feel a stinging sensation, and your lip will get swollen, once you've gotten through the first couple layers, match up the needle inside of your lip with the outside mark, so it comes out there, and once you're ready push through.
5) Now that you have the needle stuck in your lip, you'll have to get the jewelery that you got for the piercing, now you'll notice that the needle is hollow, put the open end of the ring in the hole and push through, you'll most likely have to adjust the ring around, so that it goes through. Once its gone through you're all done! take the clamp off and put the other end of the lip ring on and you're all set!
P.S. If you accidentally push the needle through without putting the jewelery in it will heal up instantly and you'll have to re pierce it(ouch)
The healing time for this type of piercing is 6-8weeks, you'll want to clean it with hot salt water that you can make, the salt has to be sea salt, not the man made kind, the local piercing shop will most likely give these out for free.
Do this when you wake up and before going to bed.
Avoid spicy foods.
