Hi guys... you know all in one computers? im dying to know if you can change the parts of an all in one computer o_o because the one i use is slow in games and i want to stick in a GTX 460 :3
i have hp touchsmart all in one
I do not reccomend changing it because if by any chance you can pop it open it will void your oem warranty and normally those pcs are onboard grafix cards so no upgrades
There's quite a few reasons why you can't;
-1: You can't stick it in because you dont have a PCI-e 2.0 X16 on your HP all in one.
-2: Even if you had a PCI-e 2.0 X16 slot you would not have the PCI power connectors for it (EVGA version comes with two that converts molar power connectors to PCI-e power connections.. 2x, requires 4 molars)
-3: Even if you had PCI-e power connects or a slot for it (Which you don
't) your power supply would not be powerful enough to supply the video card (27 amps per 12v rail, 450 MINNIMUM required.. HP computers have weak ampage on the 12v rails)
-4: Even if you have a good enough power supply, PCI-e slot, PCI-e power cords you would not have enough room for the card itself.. it's fucking MASSIVE.. it takes up 2 slots on my Cooler master HAF 922.
HP computers were not meant for gaming, just for entertainment such as videos, music, basic gameplay (OpenGL games, minor DX8-9 games)
You'd have to build nearly an entire new PC to actually get the GTX 460.
(Trust me, I have the GTX 460 setting in my new PC I'm building right now.. )
