PS3 Backups games with modchip finally

PS3 modchip claims to finally allow backing up games without invasive console surgery (video) -- Engadget
What do you think about it? Will Sony make psn not free, because of these hacks?

Well I Guess it's Finally Possible, I do wonder however, are these games just running from the Game Data Files Stored on the PS3 itself!

If one actually comes out, such as a firmware modification, then I'd invest in a PS3 in a heartbeat.

Can somebody please explain whats going on here? :/

It's a chip that allows you to play backups, but I'm only thinking that it allows you to play the Game Data You Install from the Disc!

OMG! Get a 500GB HD. (As in buy one and Self-Install it) get GameFly. = Any game you ever wanted for Free

Is the 500GB HDD External or Internal?

external will it work still ?

If the came out i would buy it even if it cost more then the ps3 itself.

haha same mabye

Only Problem is the the Device can not be used to edit the Backup files, which is what everyone was hoping for, but it was tested by others and confirmed that editing files does not work!
