I was directed by a user to take my post here so here it is.
Ok so I seem to be having a problem no one else has. I had been using VAC chaos 2.15 on the 1.2.208 patch and I clicked on play on Steam without Chaos running and got banned lol. Before the ban, I could get people to join the game. With Chaos running I can get into the game but I can't find one or get anyone to join. I recently switched to Liberation, but I having the same problem. This is what happens. I choose the game type, force host, change the map, and launch the game. I load in and no one joins and the game ends because the enemy team "forfeited". Also, it will sometimes put me in as a spectator and not on a team. Now if I try to just search for a game it doesn't find anyone either. My NAT type is Open. So what do you think the problem could be?

If you have been banned then you can't play online unless you are host.
because if you join a game when you are not the host, then the host will have VAC enabled and HIs VAC will say cheat detected and kick you.
In theory you should be able to Host online, but I also get that problem where no body joins, So i don't think it is possible unless you have heard otherwise.
I also have this problem sometimes. I just either wait, or give up and go play something else cause it always works again in some hour or so. If it's all the time then just stop downloading porn.
I have the same problem. I can only host Private.
Funny thing is:
If i try to host on a public game, and I dont invite anyone to my game, no one joins
If i host a Private Match and invite people, they are actually able to join me :P

You are banned, you only get Private matches.
