Once you have the client installed, it will launch, but you will not be able to join any servers, you'll get an error dialog box claiming the version of your game does not match that of the server hosting the game. To solve this problem you need a patch. How I did this was I used the v1 to v16 patch then I used the v17 patch (Because the v18 patch gave me errors and the v17 patch works fine.).

v1-16 patch:
