Banned for leaving?

Well i just got off halo.
Halo Critical #1.
There is one major problem with matchmaking.

You can get banned for leaving a game.

I cannot express my anger that a good game couldn't just go and outright fuck itself over in this.

In concept this seems completely stupid. Not only is it just silly in game variants such as "Team Slayer" or any TDM style game, as you have an advantage, but who's heard of banning people from their game for leaving it?

This sounds like a microsoft ego trip to me(the whole "you can't quit unless i say so" bit).

Here is my points on this.
1. If I paid for XboxLive, I should get to play the games i pay for.
2. Punishing me for quitting a game is horrible, no other game really does this.

I haven't been banned but my friend did, he left at various times and for pretty good reasons like work, a friend's invite, and even just to help out someone. He didn't want to be afk and ruin his team, so why stay?

They did it for the hardcore MLG players, if you ever played super competitively and really wanted to win, then some deranker just comes in your game and leaves to make you lose, it sucks really bad.

But yeah if you're like a regular player just for fun, it is pretty stupid..
