Console not working :((

Hi,i was playong on a cod4 cracked server,till my game crashes for and error shwos something like " iw3mp has stopped working " then i open it agian,i press \ key to open console and the console doesn't show up.. what happened? i can't open console anymore

when u restarted cod 4 a message appears to run it in safe mode u most of chosen yes, well the default console button is ` its the button under esc and above tab button iif it doesnt appear goto options then game options then u see enable console go on yes
