Democrat = liberals, including socialists; wants universal health care, gay rights, more tax for rich and businesses and less for the middle and poor, etc.
Bush/Romney's a Republican
Republican = conservatives; wants self paid health care, no gay rights, tax breaks for companies and rich people, etc.

Not all of that is true. Republicans want lower taxes in general, not just upper classes. Also, Democrats stand for higher taxes for everybody. If you haven't noticed, taxes have gone up behind a Democratic basis.
