WORLD.rez

Hi, so im having little problems
im a good weapon modder but when i wanted to mod the map and i know its in world.rez but after i extracted it i realized it was a dat file and i never worked with thoes, i have PS4 but it cant open it so any ideas on how i open and edit maps??

No, you can't. Well some can, but they wont tell you how..

er... You don't edit .DAT files, but you can MAKE .DAT Files.

If you want to mod maps go check the textures.

Nexon checks WORLD.rez when you enter a map with other players to make sure they're the same. So if you COULD edit it, you won't be able to go in the specific map.

You can edit crates and barrels that are on the map but other than that you cant really.

For textures, its in textures.rez.
You can't edit the model of a .dat file. dat is the compiled file. Its used in game, but, once complied, can't be edited anymore. You can make a map from scratch, if you know what you're doing.

The dat files have a similar structure to the ltb files, and creating a converter for them wouldn't be that hard to make. I am too lazy to spend the time on making one, but someone else had talked to me about working on one. If you don't want to spend the time on one yourself, I guess you will have to wait and hope someone else releases one for you.
