Soladis's Tutorial on Explorer Tutorial

Ok. First of all the title may seem a bit confusing so lemme set it straight. This guide is for new players and how to complete the tutorial for the explorer classes. So read through it and tell me what you think of it :P.

I. What is the Explorer Class?

Well the explorer class is your basic class for Maplestory. It consists of the Magician, Bowmen, Warrior, and Theif. This Clan is mainly for people who want lots of quests, a challenge, and a way to get used the game of Maplestory. So if your new to Maplestory and want to learn the basics of the game choose the Explorer class. It will greatly help you when you want to make a further powerful version of the explorer.

II. Why Choose The Explorer Class?

As I described above in the first part, they can be used if you like quests, a challenge, or new to the game. And they consist of the magician, bowmen, warrior, and theif as I once again said above.


III. Tutorial for the Explorer Tutorial

Ok now to start the Tutorial off. When you first make a new character you are prompted to make a character name of your choosing.

Once you find one that you like, you may now proceed to making what your character wants to look like. For instance hair color, theirs orange, brown, blonde, and black. You can also choose the eyes, clothing, weapon, and hair style.

Once you have completed that you may start by clicking on your character and entering the game through the "Start Game" or by double-clicking your character that you want to enter with.

If you have made a brand new account you will be prompted with the 6-Digit Entry Code. All you have to do is enter a 6-digit code of your choosing 2 times to start with your adventure. But just to let you know that after those first 2 times of entering you 6-digit code, you only have to enter it once.

Now that you have entered your code and started your adventure with your character, you will be taken to the tutorial island and I like to call it.

Once you enter Tutorial Island, you see Heena, a Maplestory NPC. Double-Click on her and it will bring up a quest that you can do to help you gain exp, mesos (Money), or items.

Read what she has to say then, Click on "Heena and Sera" under Quests Available! and you may read what she says but it doesnt really matter since what she's saying is about Sera and Her, and about how to jump and stuff like that.

Once you clicked Next on "Heena and Sera" then click Accept. A little red window will pop up saying that you have complete a quest. Now head East and jump up and go up the ladder to meet with Sera. Double-Click on Sera and click "Heena and Sera (Pre-Complete Enabled)" Then click Ok in the orange box below in the dialog box to recieve your reward of 5 exp.

Next go down the ladder and press ALT+Down Arrow to Jump down, and head over the Portal and click Up Arrow to go through the Portal.

Next Head East and Double-Click on Roger. Click on "Roger's Apple" and Accept the quest. Next you'll have to click the "I" Button on your Keyboard to bring up your Inventory. Click the Tab that says "Use" if its not already selected. Now, Double-Click on Roger's Apple, you will then eat it and regenerate your HP (Health Points) back to 100%. Double-Click on Roger and turn in your quest.

Once you have done that you will receive a Level up to Level 2, which you will also receive a SP (Skill Point). You may fill in one of the 3 skills shown in the Skill Window, Recovery (Recovers A Certain Amount Of HP Over A Certain Amount Of Time), Nimble Feet (Increases Speed For Certain Amount Of Time), and Three Snails (Hurtles a Snail Shell At The Enemy At The Cost Of MP (Mana Points)). You may place an SP point in a Skill by pressing the Orange UP ARROW next to the skill.

Now that you have placed your SP into a skill, you may now head East into the next portal. Next, Double-Click on Nina, and Click on "Nina's Brother Sen". And Accept the quest. Next you will travel East until that little Mushroom House (As shown Below) and Press the UP ARROW key to enter it and talk to Sen. Turn in the quest and the next quest will be automatically Accepted. Next go back to Nina and turn in that quest,the next quest will also e automatically Accepted. Now go back into the House and turn in the final quest for "Nina's Brother Sen" and receive your reward of Mushroom Candy x2 , and 20 EXP.

You will Level Up to 3 and receive another SP, Press "K" to Spend it. And if your wondering about your stats, just dont worry they are automatically placed for you until you receive your first Job Advancement or until you reach level 11. And to also see your start Press "S".

Now head East into the Portal. Ok now is where you learn how to fight and defeat monsters. Double-Click on Todd and accept his Quest "Todd's Hunting Methods". Now go east until you find the Jr. Sentinels and press CTRL to attack them. Defeat them and press "Z" to pick up the Jr. Sentinel Shellpiece. Now Head East right before the Portal, and turn in the quest to Peter. You will receive 30 EXP and a random Head Piece.

Next go through the Portal and meet with Robin, and Accept his quest, "Robin The Walking Encyclopedia". Read what he wants you too and answer the questions correctly to finish the quest. When you complete the quest you will receive 40 EXP. You will level up to 4 and receive an SP, place your SP where you want it and move on.

Now head East and meet up with Sam. Accepts his quest, "Help Hunt The Snails". Once accepted you may start hunting the snails with green shells just West to you. But just to warn you, unlike the Jr. Sentinels, Snails can hurt you and if you fall to 0/?? or 0% HP you will die. And one more thing about defeating monsters, Pick Up The MESOS, And ITEMS!!! You can sell the items to make more Mesos, which then you may use Mesos to buy the needed items like armor, potions, and weapons.

Ok now that you've defeated 10 snails head east through the Portal, Accepts Rain's Quest. Read what she tells you and do the quiz. When you complete her quiz you will receive 20 EXP and gain a level to level 5, and Also receive another SP, place that SP and move on.

Now move over to Pio. Accept his Quest, and start breaking the boxes with Maple Leaves on them for Boards and Rusty Screws. Once you gather all the required Items, turn in the quest to receive 200 Mesos, and 100 EXP. Next accept Pio's last quest and turn it in to receive a Lawn Chair to sit and and regain HP and MP every 10 seconds.

Next head East to Maria and turn in that quest, and receive 60 EXP and a level up to level 6, place your SP that you received and move on. Next head East to Lucas and turn in "Mariah's Letter" and receive Red Potion x5, Blue Potion x5, and 40 EXP.

Now Accept Lucas's quest "Chief's Introduction". Now head East to the portal which will take you to the next 2 quests. Talk to Yoona, and accept her quest. For Yoona you must defeat 10 Blue Snails and 10 Shrooms. Very Simple. Defeat your Shrooms and Blue Snails, then turn in the quets to receive 100 EXP.

Next go over to Mia and Accept her training Quests. Press "I" and Click on the "Equip" Tab and Double-Click on the Razor Mia gave you. Now enter the Portal just right of Mia and Defeat 5 Stumps and get 3 Tree Branches. After you get those, go back through the Portal to the South-East and turn in the first quest to Mia,to receive 150 EXP and an SP, and Accept the next one.

Now go back through the Portal to enter 'Training Grounds 2' and defeat 5 red snails. Once you have defeated your 5 red snails, go back through the portal and turn in the second quest, to receive 175 EXP, Orange x10, and Egg x10, then accept the 3rd quest.

Now enter the Portal once more and defeat 3 Slimes, and find 1 Squishy Liquid. Now that you have defeated your 3 Slimes and found your 1 Squishy Liquid, go back through the Portal and turn in your quest to receive 200 EXP and Level up to 8. Now for the Final Mia Training Quest you must defeat 2 pigs. Now that you have defeated your 2 Pigs, go back and turn in the quest to receive Meat x15, Lemon x15 and 250 EXP.

Now Head back West to Lucas and turn in the Quest to receive a Recommendation Letter and 500 EXP. Now head back East to Mia and find Mari just East of her. Accept his Quest and Defeat 1 Orange Mushroom and Find 1 Orange Mushroom Cap. Once you defeat the Orange Mushroom and Find the Orange Mushroom Cap, Turn in the Quest and receive 700 EXP and a Level Up to Level 9.

Next Head East and you will see all of the different Trainers in a tree. Now Head East through the Portal to South Perry. Accept Bigg's Quest and head east to the Ferry. Talk to Shanks and you will get a ride on the Ferry to Victoria Island, which is 150 Mesos, but if you went back for your Recommendation Letter, you'll receive a free ride to Victoria Island.

It will play through an Animation or Little Segment of a Video and you will arrive on Victoria Island.Now you may Receive a little Lightbulb above your head. Double Click on it and accept the quest. Now go East and up the front end of the Ship and find Teink the Monster Book Salesman and Talk to him. Turn in his Quest to receive a Return to Lith Harbor Scroll x3.

Now head East and go all the way down and find Olaf. Turn in the quest for Olaf and receive Blue Potion for Beginner x100, Red Potion for Beginner x100, and 500 EXP. Now accept Olaf's Test/Quest. Answer the questions to receive 65 EXP.

Now if you havent Leveled up to 10 through all these quest but is near at about 80%. Just head East and train on the Snails. Then go back and take the quest for your 1st Job Advancement. Once you've accepted Olaf will teleport you to the trainer. Then you will turn in that quest and become whatever you want to become.

IV. Classes After Tutorial And What They Do

Well after the tutorial their are 5 main classes to choose from :

Magician: Which uses magic as a weapon
Bowman: Which uses a Bow/Crossbow as a weapon
Warrior: Uses a Sword, Axe, Polearm, or Other Melee Weapons for a Weapon
Pirate: Uses a Gun or Knuckles for weapons
Theif: Uses Daggers for main weapons, and Throwing stars also.

So concludes my Very First Tutorial on the Explorer's Tutorial Island. I Hope it helped you, and I Hope you enjoyed it. I Will create other tutorials for the different classes in the near future.

Yes lol it took me 2.5 Hours to make it :P but it was totally worth it

I don't think tutorial island is that hard anymore

You should've seen it 2 years ago. You had to walk around huge pieces of the map. And there was no way Olaf would teleport you to your trainer. I had to walk to perion as a lvl 10. That's hard.
After getting job advance now, you get all these guidance quests. I had to find out everything myself :O

Still a nice guide though.

Yeah it was horrible then, and the dice rolling.. You had to spend a lot of time on it to get the perfect stats.

Yup. The dicerolling. With my mage it took me 45 mins to get a good roll :O
