Beck vs. K-ON!
Ok let me introduce to you the two main music anime/manga and the grading scale.
K-ON!
-Its a story about a group of gradeschool girls who form a band-club in their school, practice, and put on a show for the school and etc.
Beck
-Its a story about a kid who joins a band. They start out small and work their way up. Hard to really put the story into words because a lot of stuff happens, but basically the story follows closely to reality on making it big.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Story: Beck.
-Beck's story is not only up-lifting, its interesting. The bullet ridden lucille, the creepy afro guy, and the dream they all share, its all really brilliant and very well done.K-ON! has no story, it literally is an after-school club that puts on a show every so often for students.
Animation: Beck
Not really a lot of action either way, they are both decent anime wise. Manga-wise beck wins though. K-ON! manga has the quality of a newspaper cartoon.
Theme:Beck.
Beck focuses on rock and rock tribute. There are a TON of rock references, the GOOD ones too.(Hindrix, beatles, Nirvana, Queen etc. none of the new rock) K-ON! focuses on gradeschool girls looking "cute", hell they really dont' even focus on the music part of it all that much.
Target Audience: BECK
-Beck: People who like music.
-K-ON!: people who like gradeschool girls.
---------------------------------------------------
After just finishing beck, i have to say: Its hands-down 100% better than K-ON! in every way if you aren't a pervert and a great anime
