Well, I might be wrong, but my brother's car redlines at about 7k RPMs, and he goes up to about 7.5-8k before he shifts gears. He never grinds gears and he's never had engine trouble. I'm guessing the noob in the 350z goes up to about 9 or 9.5k.

and once you redline its not like you get much more speed, shifting at redline NOT OVER would be prime
