Opening Menu

Okay, sorry to look like a noob but I need some help...

I've got hacks workin' on other people's PC's however on my own laptop I am unable to open any menus.
I am (unfortunately) running Vista 32-bit with SP2, all updated.

I have tried several different injectors, all with the same results.
I successfully (apparently) inject the .dll (such as MrSkaFighter's 2.2/2.3) and CA boots up. No menu, no nothing.
Pressing insert does nothing, it's as if the dll did not even inject.

Help would be much appreciated

Edit: If it helps, I have UAC & DEP disabled and have tried running as admin. DirectX package installed + Net Framework 4.
