My X Box just got the red ring and i was going to do the penny trick with thermal paste but when i opened it there was no thermal pads or black chips . Does anyone know why my x box dont got them? It will b very helpful if you can help me out im just sooo confused
what version of xbox do you have?
I personally suggest is send the thing into microsoft, just because its guarenteed to get fixed, and if u fuck up fixing yours, they wont take it and fix it any more.

Has it happened before, if not you can send it to microsoft, but, for black chips you might want too include that in their, my xbox's faceplate was messed up so they sent me a refurbished xbox, with a 20gig hardrive instead of my 60.. Make sure they don't switch yours!

Yea try telling billgates that, I think hes molesting my 60gig now. Anyways, Im buying a new xbox, Hope it comes with a transfer cable. Do the elites come with one, I only have the Pro. (They dont make anymore.) Also, Threadstarter- you might want too send it to xbox instead of voiding your warranty cause if it happens again, then ur fucked.
If you cant do it, dont do it. Send it to microsoft and try having a life for a few days
they send u a month of live, to compensate for the time to fix it...also i agree with ry dont fuck with it...and they told me to leave my HD with me and just send thexbox back lol
Get it fixed properly.... Most of the "easy fix" techniques are just temporarily 'fixing' your Xbox for it to be ruined worse on a later date.
Send it in. Unless you know what you're doing, don't even bother with home tutorials on fixing your xbox, you'll just fuck it up more than it is.
Plus doing It urself automatically invalidates the warranty

just like towel trick they both dont work
ether send it in to MS or find an add with someone who fixs RROD ( super shopper )
the towel trick usually just burns ur xbox out. dont risk it, if you cant fix it thru the troubleshoot on the official microsoft website...dont do it urself.

I thought the penny trick worked on already flashed ones though.
Anyways, The towel one work's but it only fixes's it for about 30-45m miniutes before your xbox freeze's and gets RROD again.
