Im planning to learn Visual Basic. I already got the program, even a portable version for my USB
But now I need a good TuT. A TuT where I can start from scratch, but at the same time I need an easy tut where I can follow up chapter by chapter till I get enough experience to find by myself what exactly I want.
My main language is Spanish, but I can read, speak, write English like 7/10, the rest I got help with Google Translator.
Im not trying to make hacks but if I learn enough maybe I can develop some apps. I dont want to be a kick ass coder (I dont have enough time for that, FML) I just want to know a little bit more than the basics and be able to code tools, apps for myself and one day for the community.
If you know a process, any tut that you suggest me I can download or I can buy (low price), with videos and exercises will be much better.
Tips, suggestion, comments will be appreciated.
Thanks in advace

Well it's always a tough one, personally I never learned from tuts and books etc (apart from like "Hello World" and shit), it's just not the way I learn. However if you are into learning straight out of a book, there are plenty of good ebooks around that you can look at. I do however recommend doing the standard "Hello World" tutorial and then doing it as many different ways as you can (i,e with messageboxes, textboxes, variables...etc) so that you get a lot out of it. After that, you can start taking on simple projects to build on the basics.
It really depends on whether or not you actually enjoy programming when you start it. I've known a few friends that wanted to start coding but found it frustrating and boring to them. What you really need to find out is how you enjoy learning. Booklearning is too rigid for me and often glosses over things that you'll need on a day to day basis so I never really went with it, I always liked having a project I wanted, then finding out how to go about it and learning as much as I can.
In short, you can't really get anyone to tell you HOW to learn, in the end it's up to you. Once you figure it out, you can go from there.

Years to master, perhaps. But you'll be able to code most of the apps you'll wanna make in a matter of months. I've only been coding for 8 months but I'm fairly confident now.
Visual basics doesnt take too long at all to learn, jjust look at tutorials people post, look at the code, understand what it means, and then have a go at it yourself. I taught myself that way if you need any help add me on msn or send me a PM/VM id be glad to help
Go though these tutorials here, pick all the one's you want to do and start doing them, your'll starting learning how it works easy.
Also searching you tube for like "Visual Basic How to Make A FTP Program" or some thing like that could help.
Youtube is more likely copy & paste(most times).

I learned from you tube...You just have to look at it and understand what its doing, now I can make my own stuff with out help (if I've already gone over it)
So you tube is a good idea, if you are willing to actually spend the time to type it up and get to know what each thing does. Anyways most of the tutorials here you CAN copy and paste, on you tube it messes the code up and thats if they even put the code on it.
MSDN was my friend then i learn from experience
Pick a project and go with it.
Google for help.
Repeat.
I'm surprised the minions havn't taken this as an oppotunity to speak about the MPGH classes. Anyway, youtube and Google are your best friends! Start downloading sources people have released, and read through them. You will find bits of code you have seen in youtube and google TuTs and will start to understand what it means. It isn't totally necessary to spend money on books, but if that's the way you like to learn, go for it!
If you decide on a beginner project like a simple Webbrowser or Notepad, post it here in the VB section and we can help you out :]
He said he's not good with English, I doubt he'd be able to listen to a fast talking native speaker using slang, etc.

Yes I can. Btw I work in a Hotel and I have to speak english everyday with guests.
Well as long as you post project ideas, errors, we can help you
You'll never know if that error can be avoided if you dont post
