Gook is slang for Vietnamese. I was in the Vietnam War and the vietnamese civilians used to call the commie viets, 'gooks.' Eventually the name caught up in modern-day diction and viets still call each other gooks. It's a heavy misconception you kidiots still have to learn. It's like when you FPS scrubs call new comers in this site "choobs." Although it lacks much class, it's an informality everyone's cool with.
