crossfire can not play because of this error ... please help me!

Try reinstalling CF downloading the new version.

Maybe you have the old setup '-'

i have new version but I just go on W7. I do not work on XP
Edit: Windows7 now installed.

Try it and reinstall again, if don't work check for virus to see isn't that.
In the last case you can format your computer and/or update your PC drivers

Please Note; Before you run these programs and such, Completely uninstall Crossfire, After running such programs Re-install from the Z8games Website.

when u reinstall the game DELETE THE Z8 GAMES CROSSFIRE FOLDER , download CCleaner run it and than u can install the game again
