[Share]MS Bootcamp
Ok, Many years ago a friend of mine payed to take him and me to MCSE bootcamp, it was a 7 day venture into LasVegas and cost him $4.995, he wanted me to work with him in Visual FoxPro.

Well, In development news there is a free one day event bootcamp which covers Windows 7, Internet Explorer 9, and Silverlight 4 out of browser, along with some other stuff.

There will be a series of labs during the day, bring your laptop and your Visual Studio IDE.

Labs:

Module 1: Windows 7 Application Compatibility for developers
Module 2: Windows 7 Taskbar Integration
Module 3: Internet Explorer 9
Module 4: Silverlight 4 Out of Browser (OOB)
Module 5: The Sexy Stuff: Sensors, Location, and Multitouch in Windows 7
Module 6: Windows 7 Deployment (optional)

If you are interested, you can find announced dates and locations here.

For the WIN: Windows 7 Development Boot Camp

If it is in your city, and you have time to go, there is no good reason not too, you can learn a lot from these bootcamps.

Seems interesting, looks like there's actually one in Nashville. If I was a developer I would gt, but since I'm not atleast yet anyway meh...
I still suggest you attend, it's not about being a professional developer, it's about what you take out of the labs that will help you in development.
Meh idk. Sure if I had a well paying job, but its a 3 hour drive to Nashville, which isn't a big deal except. Then I still need a more powerful laptop with Win7 because Vista fails. Though I'm saving up for a lappy I don't think I'll get one by Feb. But assuming everything worked out and I did get to go, I'm prbly going to be the youngest guy there, which would be okay if I was some wizkid, but you know as much as I do how pathetic I am at WindowsAPI, COM, and Managed C++ and I still haven't got around to learning any of the .NET languages. I'd be like a fish outta water.
I'd lmfao if they'd check genuineness of the serials used there

Good point I'll also need a Privacy filter to hide a few of the programs I have though in all honesty I tend to use the free version a VS more then VS2010, which just lags too much on my lappy. Mainly it would be to hide the 100+ cracking tutorials I keep scattered around my desktop, which other developers may not feel comfortable with. Not that I'm interested in cracking commercial software, it's that the same techniques are needed to hack games.
None in Canadia ;_;

If there was I'd totally go for S&Gs, sounds interesting as well.
They don't require any access to your information, it's a lab (workshops) Some labs will be interactive, some learning, some innovative ideas.

Hell I might end up going, maybe if I throw out some bs I can actly get my parents to meet me halfway on a new computer. And ofcourse I'll learn something, would be cool to see what real development is like. Ok NG you've convinced me. I'll look into it, though I'm still not sure if I'll be able to go.
none in california

sigh...

Not yet, but it doesn't end early February, there is plenty of time, it may still be there, this is ongoing.

So far they have only added the known dates, anyone can sponsor the event, in fact if you have a location, you can sponsor it.
Sounds good, if you do, enjoy yourself and let us know what you "take home with you"
WHERE IS AUSTRALIA ON THIS LIST? we always get left out ! =(

EDIT

Wait, its not an official Microsoft team..

I was going to question them about my WP7 and my screwed up dev license.
Watch the bumps!
It's not official MS Team & Dev Lab, if it was, it wouldn't be free.
