Making Blackshot Skins, Need Help

I have never messed around with skins before, and i was looking to give it a try. I wouldnt even know where to begin with changing weapon/character colors.. I have a basic knowledge of C++ and coding, but it was my understanding that to edit skins all you really need is common sense. Could some one point me in the right direction please?

Just read it. I went to bsmodz yesterday and i got spammed with pop-ups, and then redirected away from the site about 10 seconds later. It would send me to advertisement sites that i had to crtl+alt+del out of, because they wanted to prevent you from leaving =/ I treid this multiple times..
