Proof of Concept.

Ok so heres an idea for a proof of concept expirment for evolution (and what i orignally came up for it, trying to hasten evolution/create a new species quickly) still havent worked out a procedure and all the details but here is the general concept (came up with this while studying for my Midterm in AP Bio)

Idea:
Use a restriction enzyme to cut out the coding for a polymerse of a deep sea vent organism, and insert it into a prokaryote in place of its regular polymerse, then let it reproduce for a generation or two and use the offspring who have aquired the trait for a polyermrse be exposed to higher temperatures to enduce enzyme to act as its catalyst faster. increasing the rate of mutations and in theory the reproduction (theres more but im too tired to type it)

i got a friend who works for the local univ. lab and is willing to give it a try, whattya guys think?

yes. i am, my orginal idea would have taken to long and literally millions if not billions of dollars and was highly unethical so i went with an easier/faster/cheaper idea. im being complelty honest (my friend works at an ivy league lab so if i come up with decent enough ideas she usually helps me)

the idea would be to spead up mutations and reproductions to see if you could/how long itd take to get a eukarotyic organism. itd have to be a big enough sample size because majority of the muations would probably be lethal.

Hm...I always thought it was kind of illegial to create a new species without permission?
Anyway, it's not a bad idea, but what's the actual point to making a new species, will it be bred for a particular reason? inb4 it's my legacy.

for the sake of watching evolution happen before ur eyes and see if it could be done. itd be a proof of concept. and no i dont believe so? i think if u do actual cloning and more "unethical" expirements you need to.
