Injection of Mods..
Hi guys, alot of people are wondering how to inject mods but the tutorials out there are riddled with spelling errors and are hard to understand. This tutorial will be aided with screenshots.
Preparation : Before I start this tutorial, you need to secure some things.
1. Where the mod you want to use is located.
2. Where your Combat Arms game folder is located (this can be found normally in C: drive or in your program files...)
3. A copy of Rezinject. (Supplied)
Open all of these in Windows Explorer, so you are not lost. We can now get started.
Step 1. Open your copy of RezInject.
Step 2. Hit the button that says "..." and you should be asked to locate the file. Locate the .rez file which you will be injecting your mod in to. (You can find this out either by asking the mod maker or PMing me.)
Step 3. It is now time to locate your mod that you want to inject. Press the "Add" Button and locate your mod. (TIP : Common Mod file extensions include .DTX and ****B) After you have found your mod, click "Open". In the table, it should now display the file name. In the "Status" section, it should display "OK". Otherwise, something is wrong.
Step 4. If everything is set up like I have mentioned above, hit "Inject". After 2-10 seconds (Injection time is determined by the size of the file you are injecting) a message box should appear with "Injection Successful" displayed.
Final Step. Now go into your Combat Arms folder, and go into your "Game" Folder. Located the .REZ file you injected the mod into, there should be a duplicate with an extension ".rezNEW" Cut the original file (the file with just .rez at the end) to somewhere that you will remember for back up purposes. Then, right click on the .rezNEW file and take the "NEW" bit out of the extension. It should come up with a dialog saying "Changing a file extension may cause the file to become unstable. Do you wish to change it?"
Hit Yes and start Combat Arms.
If you have completed everything correctly, enjoy your mod!
