idk... It would be easier if you had the code for a CF server then you can just change a few things. Never coded a server so I'm not sure what would be the easiest way to do it, perhaps monitor the packets and try reconstruct a server on your own? I have no idea, but maybe there's an easier way.
EDIT: Maybe look to see how people make other kinds of private servers like WoW, Runescape, MapleStory, etc. That will proabably give u a good start.

i know how to make Rs ps Conquers Ps and more but thats very easy
and you can download the database whit it
with crossfire is different
there is only one guy who knows how to make a CF Private server
and therefore I do not think he gives me his database
it is difficult to make database

Hacking a game on your computer may be shunned upon ("like masturbating on a airplane" : Hangover) or a breach of TOS but isn't illegal. Hacking something server side, Not so much. I would reconsider any thoughts you may have.

It's funny to see people actually saying that they created that pserver when they followed a tutorial on how to setup the damt database...
(and im really surprised how some of them actually manage to get a few thousands of $$ from those servers with donations..)
Saw quite a lot of this at Runescape,Flyff and WoW privates..

I'm dev on a FlyFF private server, using official source for client and server but alot of content was added by us, so in that sense we *could* say that it's 'our pserver'.
Original Flyff Devs used sprintf and strcat for the SQL queries,
for dropping tables =3 So many servers got hit over the past few days, including ours. Ours should be fixed now though(eclipseflyff).

Sorry if I am a little bit late on this but when it comes to database hacking if you are familar with linux then the route to go is gettin a virtual machine an then upload BackTrack v3 on there. Its a hackers heaven with all the tools you will ever need for something like that with even sniffing out the passwords of sa accounts an admin you just gotta be able to find a unsecured file in their website/host with their SQLninja application. It comes in use, here's the link if you want to check it out an I also provided a link for a SQL ninja walkthrough.
