[Idea][Discussion] Programming Challenges.

Alright, this is nowhere near official yet, however I just wanted some feedback from you guys on whether anyone would actually be interested in this.

Basically, I'm jacking @Hell_Demon's programming contest idea, and bringing it to the Coders Lounge.

The tasks will be more of a logical thinking challenge as well as programming ability. Points are awarded for creativity and originality of the solution as well as efficiency.

As you can see it's more about logical thinking than uber 1337 programming skillz, so anyone can enter!
If we go ahead with this I'll post a new question every sunday evening around 7pm (GMT+8) and applications will close exactly a week later. I know VBOTW sorta failed in the past, so I'm hoping a more "direct" idea will work better.

I haven't yet spoken to NextGen about this (although he's no longer directly affiliated with the section, he belongs here) So between us we will think up some kind of sexy reward (a nice sig or something).

DISKUSS.

No, we didn't. We had a VBOTW system, which was based around very general "ideas" this is a set task (if you'd even bothered to open the link I added to the main post) and the most efficient way to complete it using your knowledge of Visual Basic. I agree this may never take off because it's not a spammer/browser/injector, but personally I enjoy logic challenges, I wanted to see if anyone else was keen.

This should be General, and not language specified... This contest should be in Coders Lounge instead of VB.NET, or C++, or w/e...

just my 2 cents

EDIT: Ofc it would be better to "compete" with people using the same language but... There is not enough people for it.

Yeah I think it would be better in the coders lounge, tried to give my section a leg-up first
