If you ever see a macbook lying around, chances are, it'll be password protected. In that case force shut down it and turn it on. On the loading screen, press and hold Command + S.
Then type in:

/ sbin/mount - uw /
rm /var/db/.applesetupdone
reboot

this is good and all but who would wana steal a mac?
