Summary;

1. There might be an overload of people using Crossfire and trying patch at this moment - Which is probably the most possible reason. It's the weekend and there was a huge and highly anticipated Content patch. You might just want to re-try.

2. You may need to Re-install Crossfire, Please do a complete and clean re-install. How do you do this?

3. A program or even a virus may be altering your Crossfire files as they attempt to patch.

Most common programs that do this;

Xfire, Skype, FRAPs, Anti-Virus Program, And a Virus.

What you need to do;

Disable all un-needed programs. This can be done manually or with another program such as SmartClose.

You will need to Add Crossfire to your Anti-Virus Program's Exceptions list

Please go to a search engine such as Google and type in

"(The name of your Anti Virus Program here) Add to exceptions list"

If you already know how - well you are set!


You will also need to run a thorough virus scan on your computer and restart!
