I've ditched windows and now have linux, so i was wondering could i release Gambas2 Visual Studio Applications to the Visual Basic Section? There's a way to get Microsoft VB on linux but complicated. Sooo Can On? It's the same thing.

I love programming, just not windows. But Gambas is pretty similar gonna release first project soon.

Virtual Void is right.. Don't blame the operating system for your careless web surfing. Download from trusted sites and you'll be fine. As for being slow.. I don't even..

I wasn't saying linux is better. Personally I've invested so much in windows it would be hard to live without it. Windows is slow with somethings, but it's slower precisely for the viruses your talking about, There's just a lot of extra code going on in the background for protection and compatibility across multiple very popular iterations of the OS.

Linux has its +'s and so does Windows and OSX has its -'s, but I think it's good to not be completely dependent on one OS like I am, doesn't mean I'm gonna change my own opinion because of such a simple argument.

FYI: I don't have an AV running and haven't had any problems with viruses, because it detects all my programs and bullhorns my entire system. I just use good practices with downloading

I must agree with being dependant on one OS. Good thing I was kind of forced to use some Linux distribution, I'm getting quite familiar with it. It almost feels like home, except you can't run all the good programs/games on it.
