The Gun Collection ribbons now count the following: All Permanent Weapons, Except Grenades, the starting knife and your starting weapons (m16 and m700)

wow if m16 and m700 are counted thats good 
Please read that again it says Except Grenades, starting knife, M16, and M700. This means not including those items stated above. Everything besides these are included.

According to the Ribbon FAQs posted by [GM]Saidin, The M16 and M700 are not counted.
