Ok... now for saving, and i can't use my.settings

So, i am going to save as a text file.

I know how to write the text,

( My.Computer.FileSystem.WriteAllText )

but, i need help on reading the data, and putting the text from the file and putting it on the labels.

(any good hiding spots on a computer for a save file would be appreciated ;D )
Try to make with XML , @Jason Can help you , wait him to be online xD
You can still save the info internally via My.Settings, unless you have over 100 lines of text, then it start compromising efficiency.

Let me know. I have a 2 hour break between classes so I'll be back online fairly soon.
Nah, my.settings only save in one location, if you move the file, the saved data will be gone.

Im just using label.Text = "location"

btw, i need a good hiding spot that will work with xp/vista/7 for the save files...

Try to encrypt it and write it to a text file..

A easy method is like..

A = BAOLBSLBASLBJBLABLABLABLA5sd4f5ds
B = ksahdfuioashdoashd
a = 654asd6f46sd4f6s
b = 9q786249873()/

For each letter replace it by some symbols then write it.

TO read just revert like:

BAOLBSLBASLBJBLABLABLABLA5sd4f5ds = A
ksahdfuioashdoashd = B
etc..

Ok... now how will vb read it...?

Ive never encryped before...

You're missing the point. There is a class called "StringCollection" that you can choose for the Setting type. You can store an entire collection of lines in it and it stays within the program!

I'm going to use encryption if i can. Im gonna use multi saves & loads.

Code:
Dim Something As String = "Your Text"
Something = Something.Replace("A", "AlotOFSymbols)(/()/()/)=(7887897987/")
Something = Something.Replace("a", "8686()=/)(//()=)65456")
Something = Something.Replace("B", "5644()/)('0''044")
Something = Something.Replace("b", "A()=()=/()/(&/&656+459645")
Lol it sucks but just be creative ^^

After that write to a text file ... To read is just revert it like:

Code:
Dim Something As String = "Your Encrypted Text"
Something = Something.Replace("AlotOFSymbols)(/()/()/)=(7887897987/", "A")
^^
I'm still kinda newby, but why do you need all the /()/()/ inbetween

("AlotOFSymbols)(/()/()/) =(7887897987/", "A")

Any symbols what do you want to change the text to that symbols to encrypt it ..
Oh, I see, it was just part of the encryption

and im kinda confsused... I try using this way, but it just says false...

My.Computer.FileSystem.WriteAllText("C:\1.txt", lvl.Text = Text.Replace("1", "blablabla"), True)

Tehfuck is that supposed to be? Just store it internally!

lol idk -_-

anyways, i don't think ill encrypy, cuz its just numbers and it would be easy to decrypt. I just need a good hiding spot...
You dont need that..

You do something like:

Code:
Dim Something As String = Textbox1.Text ' Or anything
Something = Something.Replace("A", "68475665485647")

' To Save
Dim Blabla As New IO.StreamWriter("FILE LOCATION")
Blabla.Write(Something)
Blabla.close
Something like that xD
