Server mods + good admins.
I used to OP a creative server, and griefers loved to come in and try to do stuff. It took all of 3 commands, and 5 seconds to kick them and undo all their harm.

50 bucks says it works multiplayer, ive been using it for 2 months on legit servers and it works, it also works on mpghcraft

The only problem with that is if someone griefed up your house with their blocks you couldnt fix ^.^

Or, you can use cobble stone + coal and make smooth stone to build your bases.
