you didn't say, How much WILL the item cost, How much does the item cost THEN, etc; etc; etc;
i haven't taken math in a few months, my last class was Algebra 2 back in December.
Can you re-explain this? I only understood the literary part of it and i'm stuck with the math part i feel so rusty.

Since x is also the price of the item, 10 + .5x must equal x.
So, 2(10 + .5x) = x(2)
20 + x = 2x
x = 20
