My friend said he could build me a custom gaming pc for 400$. He said it would have the latest Nvidia cards and have like 30gb of ram. Im kinda new to computers, so is it worth it?

Doubt it will be a very good computer, he's going to want to profit which means the parts total are going to cost under 400, for that price you won't be getting very good hardware, I wouldn't consider a 400 dollar pc a "gaming" pc

You can't have 30 gb of ram, the latest intel boards only go up to 24 while the latest amd boards can only do 16.

He'll scam you. Simple as that. $400 doesn't, no matter what you do, get you 30 gigs of ram and the last gen cards from nvidia.
