XBL Question...
I was at my friend's house, and we both have XBL. He has 1yr of gold, and I hadn't played since my 1 free month of XBL expired.
He signs in, then I do. When I sign in, his gold EXPIRES!!! Mine did too (as mine should've). We go to play Black Ops, and it says I don't have permission (or something like that).
Why? Is it because I have Silver Membership........?

Yeah, Gold Subscription is required to play online. You can still do splitscreen, campaign, etc, but no online.
