failed to load main class?

hi guys, i extracted the jar file and everything with winrar, and i try double clicking the jar file, but it says
"Failed to load Main-Class manifest attribute from C:\Users\Me\Desktop\MC\CLient\Minecraft 1.4\minecraft.jar

am i doing something wrong?): can someone please tv me or help me? thank you..

Create a new file in Notepad, and paste in

"java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar minecraft_server.jar nogui"

Save the file as start.bat, and place the file in the same folder as minecraft_server.jar.
Double click start.bat, and the Minecraft server will run.

Because your not supposed to run the .jar file, but the exe.

Go download one of the .exe's from there and run that instead.

just a black command prompt screen pops up for 1 sec then exits, and no minecraft ): can u tv me?
