Go to Start>Run
Type in %appdata%
Delete the .minecraft folder.
Uninstall Java, and run CCleaner.
Download the latest version of the JDK (The JRE lacks some things the JDK does, so its recommended to just get the JDK. The JDK comes with JRE as well so dont worry about it not having things from the JRE either.)

Install it and make sure it works, you could test it by running your browser version.
It would help if you went online and played the classic version of Minecraft before reinstalling minecraft. Its not necessary though.
Download This.
Run it and hit force update, then Enter Game.
Your game should work now.
You can use this launcher from now on, and just not hit force update to preserver mods and such, or download a launcher from the official website, as that will work.
For future reference, when you install mods, you install them in the minecraft.jar, not the exe.
