Good Map Creator

Hey guys i am playing around trying to make my own map and i was playing with sketchup pro but it is not that good does anybody have a map creator that is easy to use and good for ca?

3ds max 7 or alias maya 5.0 are the only tools that are gonna work because u need to export it as world lta, then convert it to world dat with dedit
