QuestionNEED HELP

NEED HELP
let me say this again i got my moms usb and i plug it into my computer cuz i was looking for some stuff on it i did not move anything in or out of the usb then i unplugged it then like 1hour later i went to plug it in again and there was nothing there....maybe months of my moms work is gone now lol so yeah shes a little mad right now not sure what to do.
