It's the best I used.
I'm only using the free version too, there is a $5 one.

It shows when it's lagging your message (if you have slow wifi) and it "ghosts" if it's not sent yet.
Really smooth running and has Facebook, MSN, Googletalk, Yahoo, etc.
Edit: It's in App Store (No jailbreak needed)
