Computer is having problems.

When i install xp through disk my network card for somereason wont let me connect to the internet through eithernet.

So i dont know what to do except format and im afraid to cut off my pc cause if i do there is another update.

But before i got to my desktop momments ago it was configuring update then for the first time it said configuring failed.
so is it a virus ?

seems to me it's a virus I had one like that a few years ago but it destroyed my OS I had to reinstall I just torrented windows XP if i where you u should find your mobo info and download ALL the drivers then torrent windows XP and then just install the drivers should work Windows XP doesn't have new drivers for new mobos since your motherboard came preinstalled with windows 7 windows xp might not have those ethernet drivers

@ChimiBang its a asus, and the rest im not sure about.
I just did another update and call me crazy but everything seems fine now and everything loaded up correctly.

system restart or recen back up if you can still get on your computer..

Read the post has already been recommended, and i just shut off and updated again and everything seems fine.

did you ever make a backup onto a generic HD?

Dont need it everything i have on pc is re installable.

go buy or pirate an OS
format and reinstall

Just as long as it works it's good

ok good i always make a backup of my comp like once a week
