5.56, or 7.62 rounds, it doesnt matter. When you get hit with either one, I can 100% guarantee you will not stop to say "Oh what? A measly 5.56 round? Oh you pansy."

And for the record, the Scar, the AK, and the FAL were the only guns in MW2 that were NOT 5.56mm. The guns get picked on looks, popularity, and real world combat, not which one shoots the bigger bullets.

Chillax dude, it's just a game. But anyways, even if the amount of damage for the Scar-L is lower, it's not gonna be the end of the world.
